After attempting to sue Transformers: Age of Extinction's Chinese partners for breach of contract, things have been cleared up and the investment company is back on board with the film. News broke out a couple days ago that Beijing Pangu terminated its contract and wanted all the scenes that involved its Pangu Plaza Hotel removed from the film. If the scenes were not removed, they were prepared to not release the film at all in China, which would have tremendously hurt TF4's international box office gross. This craziness, of course, was coming just days before the film's release. Initial reports stated that the company was suing Paramount Pictures for not including the hotel enough in the movie, but a day later, reports clarified that the lawsuit was only against the Chinese partners, who apparently without Paramount's knowledge, promised that the hotel would hold the world premiere of the movie as well as be able to have an 8 month long Age of Extinction exhibit. Earlier today, a Paramount spokesman confirmed that a deal had been reached and the film will continue to a normal Chinese release as planned. According to a statement from Pangu, "After friendly consultations, the two sides have achieved mutual trust, and reached an understanding." Director Michael Bay was also quoted saying, "Working with Pangu was fantastic and I want to put all this misunderstanding aside."

Updated Super Bowl Spot and Official Runtime
Transformers: Age of Extinction has been announced to have a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes (excluding the credits) which makes it the longest Transformers film ever made. Also, check out this updated Super Bowl spot below. It came out a little while ago but I neglected to post it.

Trailer News, Leaked Toys, Plot and More!
I'm back! After a tiring last couple of weeks I'm back with a ton of big news. First of all, we have some new still which include Nicola Peltz and an unknown Transformer being acted out by Michael Bay, Wahlberg and Reynor by Bumblebee, the Autobots approaching a destroyed car and more. You can see them at the bottom of this post.
Earth is scarred by the events of the past three movies, but is moving on after all the giant robots disappeared. Cade Yeager, an inventor, discovers a buried Transformer which sets the stage for the return of the rest of the Transformers.
Next we have some leaked toy images. The first is of Optimus Prime that differs slightly from the one that was previously seen. The others include Bumblebee, Hound (now confirmed as the bearded guy we saw in Detroit) and Swoop/Strafe who seems to have two heads in Dinobot mode. (Photos at bottom)
Steve Aoki, who collaborated with Linkin Park on their last album is rumored to be working on the Transformers 4 soundtrack after sending out an interesting tweet:

Michael Bay recently did an interview with IGN in which he said that Age of Extinction will be much more cinematic and have no goofiness, unlike the previous trilogy:
In the 4th installment of the live action Transformers series, Bay states this film will be "much more cinematic" and "won't [have] any goofiness." This is followed up with describing star actor Mark Wahlberg's character as a "wacky inventor."
Bay also went on to say that Transformers: The Ride and the excitement around it was what made him return for a fourth go at Transformers and in another interview, he voiced that he has not ruled out returning for Transformers 5.
The first Transformers footage release date has been confirmed, although that is a bit of bad news. Our first look will be a 30 second spot during the 2014 Super Bowl. A teaser trailer will come shortly after, according to Michael Bay on his website.

TF4 Interviews
First off is an interview with Transformers score composer Steve Jablonsky:
"I mean if you’re on an airplane and you’re listening to something with
headphones, sure it’s not going to sound as big or important as if you were in
my studio. He has so many things on his plate he might only have a minute to
listen to a piece and I’ve actually been asked that by his people. They’ll say
“the only chance that Michael has to listen to the cue is on his airplane”
because he’s on his way to China or something. And I know now to say “absolutely
not, I’m not handing this over so he can listen to it on his iPod. It’s just not
going to happen, it’s not fair to him, it’s not fair to me and it needs to be
presented properly”.
I think with each Transformers film he’s [Michael Bay] wanted something different and he’s always had this kind of specific theme where he’ll really want something special so he gives me these goals to reach, “this needs to be really emotional”, “this needs to be really kick ass”, and he always gives me new challenges. With Transformers 4 I haven’t had that many conversations with him, but I get the feeling that he wants something wildly different. Having said that we might use some of the old themes, though I’m not sure because it’s Mark Wahlberg now and a whole different cast, so we might just do something very different. The bottom line is Michael is paying me to make his films better. Whatever ideas he’s got, I’m going to listen to them, and fortunately he’s got these great ideas.
I fully expect on Transformers 4 whatever we do he’s going to want something wild and to go down some road where we use some crazy instruments or something. I don’t know yet, we’ll see what happens but he’s very adventurous in his creative process so I’ve learned that from him I think. He loves electronic stuff mixed in and that’s really where I got a lot of experience and now it’s part of my sound, I guess, because I get asked to do it a lot. I record a lot of things and then manipulate them in my computer and I really enjoy doing that that – combining it with the orchestra to make something new – and he loves that sort of thing, hearing sounds he’s never heard before."
Next is a second Age of Extinction interview. This one with Mark Wahlberg is much shorter:
“It's a completely different stand-alone movie" Mark told Access Hollywood of fourth Transformers film. "It takes place after the third one, after the battle of Chicago. It's definitely its own story."
"I think it's very different and fresh and people are going to really enjoy it. I had a blast making it," he said. "And you're going to see things in this particular movie that you haven't seen in the other movies."
The last interview is with Rob Moore, a top Paramount Pictures executive. He discussed the Asian influence in Transformers 4, as well as Chinese product placement.
"Having those products certainly reinforces the fact that this is Chinese culture and that there is a lot of story-telling happening there” Mr. Moore said. “Working with our Chinese partners really helps us to ensure we are giving an accurate picture of China. The Chinese locations, actors and environment all look very natural and consistent with Chinese culture. As people start to learn more about China, and now that there is a lot more sharing of information, we will do much better."
Michael Bay said the Hong Kong scenes will comprise one-third of the
film’s length, while those in Wulong will last for two-and-a-half minutes. The
shooting in China was completed Monday. Another location outside the United
States was used for the movie, but Moore is giving nothing away, saying only
that it is a “very cold place.” The film also features a host of Chinese actors,
with Bay saying that actress Li Bingbing, who starred in “Snow Flower and
the Secret Fan,” will appear in the movie for 30 minutes. Some of the Chinese
actors in the new “Transformers” film appear in supporting roles, including
actor Han Geng and four newcomers to the industry selected from a reality
TV show organized by the Movie Channel. Three female farmers played impromptu
roles in the scenes shot in Wulong.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction
Transformers 4 has a name: Age of Extinction! Hasbro has applied for the trademark of the name and MarkMonitor has applied for the domain on the behalf of Paramount Pictures. Some video game trademarks have also been applied for that could be meant for the movie as well. They are Spirits Rising and Autobots Supreme. Dinobots 100% Confirmed
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently sat down for an interview with Beijing News about Transformers 4 and officially gave a confirmation about the mostly confirmed by evidence Dinobots."I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world's coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China's vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them."
Possible Transformers 4 Titles
Three web domains have been registered that could be possible titles for Transformers 4 according to Fusible.com. TF4 Detroit Images and Info
Tonyformer of TFW2005 has posted some photos of what he saw under construction for Transformers 4 in Detroit, Michigan. Apparently, the set will be representing part of China and a major battle is supposed to take place there. Here is some info that Tonyformer was able to gather:"I talked to a woman on set who was kind enough to actually step out and answer a few questions of mine without giving anything super major away. I REALLY tried to get some detailed info out of her but she was VERY picky about what she was willing to tell me.
She did give me her name (or at least a name) but regardless if the name she gave me was real or not, I will not share it as I do not want to get ANYONE into any trouble.
With that said, I was told that the set will indeed sub as "Somewhere" in China. She did not or would not give me an exact city name. She did however say that the set will be comprised of around 6 to 7 standing structures that will be of an older Chines design and around 4 or 5 destroyed buildings that will have crushed in walls and so on. There will be piles of debris and this set will be part of a "Major" battle scene.

TF4 Runtime Revealed
It's definitely odd for this kind of news to be announced so early, but director Michael Bay has revealed that Transformers 4 will have a runtime of 2 hours and 7 minutes, which is a little less than the previous movies but not by a whole lot (Dark of the Moon was 2 hours and 35 minutes). Even though Bay was very specific with the runtime, it is subject to alter slightly since filming hasn't even started yet. On that note, after discussing the runtime, Bay gave an actual time when filming will begin: 5 weeks. The first location will be Hong Kong, followed by other places in China, Detroit, and Chicago. Expect other locations mixed in there as well. Shooting begins in five weeks in Hong Kong and will continue to other places in China, Detroit and Chicago.
Bay Discusses TF4 Filming and GM Cars
Director Michael Bay spoke to Detroit Free Pass regarding filming plans in Michigan and he also mentioned that GM cars will return for the Transformers' alt modes. Filming in the Detroit area is expected to last about a month and a half.
“I’ll be there in a month and a half,” says the director of his plans to
shoot a big chunk of the fourth “Transformers” movie in metro
Detroit.
“We’re going to be shooting at stages, we’re going to be shooting around the city, we’re going to be shooting at GM a bit,” says Bay, who knows the city well and credits it with having a lot of good locations.

Bay Talks Trilogy, TF4 Animation Begins
Transformers director Michael Bay sat down for an interview with the New York Times for his new movie Pain and Gain and he also discussed the Transformers trilogy. The Times article also implies that the CGI animating process for Transformers 4 has begun.
“As Mr. Bay watched ILM’s preliminary animation for his latest“Transformers”
movie, blocky images of giant robots trading blows in the middle of a city, his
visceral reactions, often with variations on the word “cool” — “That’s pretty

New Audio and Video Technology in TF4
Transformers 4 to be Filmed in IMAX
Greg Foster, the chairman of IMAX, has announced that Transformers 4, along with another upcoming movie, will have certain scenes that will be filmed with IMAX cameras. Revenge of the Fallen is the only other Transformers movie to be filmed in IMAX. Even though Dark of the Moon was shown in IMAX theaters, it was not actually filmed natively with those cameras, so there were black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. TF4 to Film in China; Paramount Enters Co-Production Agreement
A press release has been given to TFW2005 regarding a co-production agreement between Paramount Pictures, China Movie Channel, and Jiaflix Enterprises. This will mean Transformers 4 will be filming in China (along with Detroit and Chicago) and China will heavily promote the movie. Some Chinese actors and actresses will also be cast in the film. Highlights of the press release are below, followed by the complete press release. Also, unfortunately, it seems as if the news about Transformers 4, 5 and 6 filming back to back was a stupid April Fools' joke by Michael Bay. The post has been removed from his official website.Pursuant to the agreement, China Movie Channel, under the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT), will cooperate with Paramount in broad-based support of the production of the film in China. “Transformers 4” is expected to be released in China on or about June 27, 2014. The parties also intend to cooperate in a number of other areas related to “Transformers 4,” including the selection of filming sites within China, theatrical promotion, and possible post-production activities in China as well as casting of Chinese actors and actresses in the film.
“I’m proud and honored by how ‘Transformers’ has been embraced by Chinese audiences,” said Michael Bay. “I look forward to working with China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises to help reach more people here and deepen their passion for this ongoing story and its characters.”

Transformers 4, 5 and 6 Filming Begins in June (Update)
April Fools' Day joke? Maybe. I highly doubt it though. Michael Bay has announced on his website, michaelbay.com, that filming for Transformers 4, 5 and 6 will begin this June."Transformers 4, 5, & 6 will begin filming back to back starting June 2013. More details to follow."
This is some huge news. It means that they have storyline and plot that will run throughout the next three movies and it also means that Michael Bay will direct the next three movies. It's actually kind of funny that he would announce this today, seeing as many people will think it's a prank. Very clever, Mr. Bay. Very clever. What do you think about this move? Is it a good idea? Also, there is a rumor going around the web right now stemming from an April Fools' prank that Shia LaBeouf will be voicing a new Autobot in Transformers 4. This is false information.

3D Confirmed for TF4
Michael Bay's official Twitter account has been busily answering questions regarding Transformers 4 today. The Nicola Peltz casting news was announced via Twitter and some 3D news has been announced as well. Transformers 4 will indeed be shot and presented in 3D, which will once again mean no shaky camera like what was seen a lot in Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

3D Being Considered for Transformers 4
Yes, it's probably something that everyone would assume, but Michael Bay has confirmed that 3D is being considered for Transformers 4. 3D was something Michael Bay was very hesitant to use in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, because he felt that 3D should only be used if it is prioritized to be the best it can. After discussing it with James Cameron, director of Avatar, Bay decided to go through with it. Dark of the Moon was often claimed by critics as the best 3D since Avatar.

di Bonaventura Talks TF4, Bay Chooses Female Lead
Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently had an interview with MTV about TF4. Here's a summary of what he had to say:
"There's a lot of new elements. I wouldn't say we've completely changed this
world, and yet it's completely different. There are new characters, new
situations. I don't think we revisit a single location. Michael really has a
great way of approaching this thing."
"The intention is this is new world, with new characters, with Mark Wahlberg leading us. It's a different movie, but a lot of the things that you love about the other ones are joining the ride."
di Bonaventura also said that he holds out hope for Michael Bay returning to direct Transformers 5 and 6 as well as saying that there is an open door for Shia LeBeouf to make a cameo in the fourth movie although not likely.
"I can't speak for Michael. I hope he would [direct the next two]. It would be great, but it's certainly something in our design of this," he said. "It's going to be an ongoing story, so the possibility, again, as long as the audience shows up for us, there's a lot of story still to be told."
"I don't believe that would be true. You never know. Things are not set in stone, and if something evolved and that came naturally."
On another note, Nelson, admin of Shoot for the Edit, has confirmed that Michael Bay has cast the lead female role for Transformers 4, although there has been no announcement of who that would be. Stay tuned!

Shia LaBeouf Talks TF4
No, Shia LaBeouf will not once again be fighting alongside Optimus Prime and the Autobots with Megan Fox or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but he does think that Transformers 4 is going to be a really cool movie.“There’s a lot of fun to be had there in terms of the action and what not. I’m sure they’re going to make a really cool movie.”
