Dark of the Moon: 1 Year Later

One year ago today, Transformers: Dark of the Moon was released in select theaters at 9pm while others got to see it three hours later. So in honor of that day, I want you guys to comment below and tell your DOTM story. What happened when you saw the movie for the first time and how excited were you? I remember that I went to an 8:40pm 3D showing on June 28th with a couple friends. The anticipation was killing me and while driving to the theater, I could not believe that I was about to see the movie. One and my friends and I got there about 20 minutes before the movie started. (We had all gotten our tickets earlier that day) My other friend that was attending though was running late and just barely got there on time. The theater was a little more than half full, but I expected that because not too many people knew about this early showing. It wasn't packed, but it was one of the best audiences I've seen a movie with. Every funny part was laughed at and everyone applauded at the end. I even remember that at the beginning of the movie when Carly was walking up the staircase, a guy in front of me leaned over to his kid and said, "Now that's the kind of Transformer I like to see," which got a good laugh out of the people around us. After watching the amazing movie, my friends and I went out to the lobby to find a very, very long line for the midnight showing of DOTM. One of my friends walked up to a guy standing in line and asked, "What movie are you guys seeing?" The guy almost instantaneously shouted, "Mr. Popper's Penguins!" My friend then had a funny expression realizing that was a stupid question. I really had  trouble sleeping that night because I just couldn't stop thinking about how awesome that movie was.

So what's your story? Comment below about how your DOTM experience was and if there are enough stories, I'm going to compile them into an upcoming post!

Transformers News 3D Blu-Ray Review

Hello everyone! I'm going to give you a short, little review of the DOTM 3D Blu-Ray. I'll start off with the 3D experience. The 3D was absolutely great. It felt like I was back in the movie theater again, especially when the birdmen scene was happening. The bonus features were really interesting. There was a lot of behind the scenes stuff, along with concept art, posters, promotional stuff and the two trailers. I wasn't able to watch all of them yet, because there's just so much to watch. For those of you wondering about any deleted scenes, there were some, but don't get excited. There was probably about three short scenes involving Sam and Carly in their home. If I remember correctly, only one of these scenes has actual audio. The others have people talking over them. There was no mention of the Twins in the bonus features and there were a couple of minutes spent on the Megan Fox situation. So, overall, I was very impressed with the 3D and bonus features and this is something a Transformers fan would want to pick up. But again, there was really no extra footage, so if you only wanted to get this for that reason, don't get it and get the bare bones one instead.

Lots of Important News

Ok, I have a bunch of news regarding the home release of DOTM and other things.  Let's get started!

First of all, here is a video review from Richard Roeper on TF3.  Please disregard everything he says about the movie and his childish behavior (ironically comments can no longer be left on the video) and listen closely when he says that there will be three minutes of extra footage on the Blu-Ray and DVD.  We will know for sure tomorrow, but the anticipation is killing me!  Click 'read more' for more amazing news!

DOTM Review Part 1

DO NOT read on or watch the video if you have not seen the movie.

As promised, here is my review/synopsis of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.  It totals about 35 minutes, so it will be broken into 3 parts.  This is part 1 and part 2 will be coming in a day or two.  Part 1 reviews from the beginning to the bar scene with Simmons, Sam and Dutch.  Also, after finishing the video, I realized that I forgot to talk about the scene with Laserbeak as a pink Bumblebee.  Who thought that was creepy?  I thought was the weirdest scene in the trilogy!  What a sinister, evil bird!  So, anyways, here's the video.  Enjoy!

My DOTM Review

Epic! Awesome! Amazing! Outstanding! Jaw-dropping!  That is how you can describe Transformers: Dark of the Moon and I am not just saying that because I'm a Transformers fan.  I will make a better review tomorrow when I'm in my right mind.  That's how amazing it was.  It was emotional.  It was thrilling.  It was sad.  It was joyful.  And Rosie was terrific by the way.  Slight spoilers after the jump.

Dark of the Moon Review

Well, Capone of Ain't it Cool News is one lucky guy.  He was able to see a rough cut of the whole entire movie and his review of it is great!  Also, Skids and Mudflap are in the movie (Update: They are not), although very briefly.  Here are some keypoints of the movie, and don't worry, there are no spoilers.  Oh, and by the way, this is what Capone had to say about the film: "the third and easily best entry in the Michael Bay-directed franchise".

- The battle of Chicago runs for an hour, with not a second wasted.
- Megatron is very creepy still with part of his head missing from the final battle of Revenge of the Fallen.
- Leonard Nimoy voices Sentinel Prime to "perfection".
- Rosie Huntington-Whiteley spends a lot of time in the tightest clothes imaginable. She does have a role in the film and is reckoned to be better than Megan Fox, perhaps because she has an active role to play.
- Sam's parents are barely in the film.
- Civilians die in large numbers during the Chicago battle.

If you're sensitive to spoilers, I would advise reading the summarized version instead of the whole one.
