Kre-O Transformers: The Quest for Energon Part 2

Part 2 of "The Quest for Energon" has finally been released after what I believe has been a couple months after part 1. The stopmotion series has once again proven to be very comical.

Potential TF4 Actresses- Bios and Predictions

This past week has been one of the biggest Transformers news lulls in quite some time, so I've decided to give you some bios and predictions for the potential actors and actresses of Transformers 4. For the actresses, I will start with the one I think has the least chance of getting the part and go down to the actress I predict will star in TF4. The actors will be ranked in the same way. Look for the post on them later this week.

Transformers News Catch Up

Hey, Transformers fans! I'm back from my vacation with some catch up news for you. Nothing major has happened in the last week, but here's a few small pieces of news:

First off, the season 2 of Transformers Prime box set was released on Tuesday. The set features episodes from "Orion Pax" to the season finale, "Darkest Hour". I'm assuming that a Blu-Ray will be hitting store shelves eventually as well.

Next, if you signed up for the Transformers Universe closed beta testing, they are sending out surveys through email to ask about the specifications of your computer:
"The time has come commander, heed this call to arms and take your next step towards participation in the closed BETA program.
In order to be eligible to take part in the closed BETA, we need some additional information. Please click on the link below to complete a brief survey and provide some information about your computers specifications.
This information is needed in order to check closed BETA eligibility and to allow us to ensure we get the widest range of people testing Transformers Universe. This data will only be used by the Transformers team and will not be shared with any third parties."

Lastly, Transformers Prime will begin airing on the CW's Vortexx block on December 8th. No time slot information has been released, but Vortexx is the CW's Saturday morning cartoon block, so Prime episodes will be airing sometime on Saturday mornings.

China Another Possible Filming Location for TF4

The Transformers 4 news just keeps pouring in like a flood. Vulture reports that China is being considered as a filming location for the movie. It seems like the decision to film there would be for political reasons more than anything. If China is showcased in Transformers 4, along with their military, there is a better chance that it will be shown in theaters there with a release date that doesn't conflict with any other big blockbusters. While the United States' ticket sales have dropped in recent years, China's has risen 35% in the past year. From a money making standpoint, it is important that the film is released in China. Vulture also points out that the rumor going around about Transformers 4 being shot in Thailand could be a negotiating strategy. It shows China that there are other options.

Transformers 4 Might Film in Thailand

Ilt Jones, the location manager for the live action Transformers trilogy, has just concluded a tour of Bangkok, Thailand. It is considered as a possible shooting location for Transformers 4. It seems like TF4 might do quite a bit of overseas filming (London is also a possible location), but then again, Dark of the Moon did some international filming as well and only a little bit of it actually appeared in the movie.

Bay Testing Lead Actors for TF4 (Updated)

Michael Bay is beginning the casting process for the parts of a high school girl, who will be Mark Wahlberg's character's daughter, and race car driver in Transformers 4. Once again, it looks like Bay is looking for more unknown actors rather than up and coming stars. Two actresses are vying for the part of the high school girl: Isabelle Cornish, the sister of Australian actress Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch, Limitless), and Nicola Peltz, who starred in The Last Airbender. Meanwhile, five actors are vying for the part of the girl's boyfriend, who is also a race car driver from Texas: Luke Grimes (Brothers and Sisters, Taken 2), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova), Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon), Jack Reynor and Hunter Parrish (Weeds). The actors must sign on to three picture deal with Paramount Pictures if they want to be cast in Transformers 4.

UPDATE: Add two actresses to the list: Gabriella Wilde (Three Musketeers) and Margaret Qualley.

DOTM Megatron Christmas Ornament

Christmas is approaching quickly and thanks to American Greetings, you can now decorate your Christmas tree with the head of Megatron! That's right, Optimus Prime has decided to sell part of his collection. Jokes aside, this ornament is really cool looking and very detailed. His eyes even glow red and he speaks, but it is unknown as to what he says.

Bay Talks TF4 Plot, Wahlberg, LaBeouf

In a recent telephone interview with TMZ, Michael Bay chatted shortly about the plot of Transformers 4, the casting of Mark Wahlberg and Transformers trilogy star, Shia LaBeouf. First off, Bay admitted that he and Wahlberg were not discussing his possible involvement in Transformers 4, but after the internet rumors began, Bay thought it was a good idea.

You saw the whole Internet Rumor that he was on. And that wasn’t really true. And we were in the inception part of the story. And just talking with Stephen Spielberg. And that was a great way to really take this franchise in a different direction. We’re doing a lot of things that are going to really make it feel fresh and new. And he’s an actor, he has accomplished, he’s an Academy Award Nominee and I love working with him and he’s got a great sense of comedy and great pathos. He’s a guy who can handle great action. And he never had a huge franchise. So this is something that really appealed to him. He said “I really want to show a movie to my kids”. You know? It kinda happened.

Tyrese Gibson Continues TF4 Battle

Tyrese Gibson is determined to star in Transformers 4. It's actually getting to the point where I won't be surprised if he offers to be in it for free. On October 24th, Gibson tweeted:

It's unreal to be physically walking inside of answered prayers..!!  #Transformers
He also attached a photo of him and Michael Bay during Transformers 3 filming. It is really hard to get a meaning out of this tweet, like most of Gibson's TF4 tweets. It could mean many, many different things.

On October 29th, Gibson sent out another Transformers tweet:

Transformers Fans ::.. I won't let up.... Till it happens...
Attached to this tweet was a link to an article saying that he was in talks with Michael Bay about starring in Transformers 4 and other stuff that has already been reported on. If Gibson continues this campaign, I'm going to have to guess that Bay will find something for him to do in TF4.

Mark Wahlberg Signed on for TF4, Plus New Logo

Michael Bay has announced that Mark Wahlberg has signed on to star in Transformers 4 even after he "debunked" the rumors a short while ago. The official statement from his website can be seen be clicking the "read more" link below. A new logo was also released which is very awesome. The left hand side is the number four with half of the Decepticon insignia on the right.

HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 8, 2012) – After an exceptionally successful collaboration on the upcoming "Pain and Gain," Michael Bay has cast Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg in the highly anticipated “TRANSFORMERS 4.” The film will hit theaters June 27th, 2014.

"Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on “Pain and Gain” and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,” said Bay.

Disney Rumor False

The Providence Journal reports that the rumor going around the web that Disney is buying Hasbro and Transformers is false.

Hasbro declined comment [in the Disney purchase rumor], citing its policy of not talking about rumor or speculation. CNBC analyst David Faber reported that Hasbro's advisers told him there's "absolutely nothing going on that they are aware of at all, in any way, shape or form" involving Hasbro or Disney.

Wall Street analysts said a Disney acquisition didn't make much sense, just after Disney agreed to buy Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 billion. And for any deal to happen, Hasbro would have to dissolve agreements with Disney's competitors.

Rumor: LaBeouf in Transformers 4?

Cele*itchy is reporting on a story coming from the print version of Star magazine that Shia LaBeouf wants to return for Transformers 4. He also wants a raise of $3 million which would mean he would make $18 million for TF4. The problem for LaBeouf is that apparently executive producer Steven Spielberg has rejected the offer and told him to get lost if he doesn't like it. LaBeouf is known for making many negative comments about the people he works with, so it is not surprising that  Spielberg has had enough of him. However, the Huffington Post has reported that the rumor is false and no conversation took place between LaBeouf and anyone associated with Transformers 4, according to one of LaBeouf's representatives.

Rumor: Disney in Talks to Buy Hasbro, Transformers

A short time after Disney bought Lucusfilm and Star Wars, rumors are swirling that they will also purchase Hasbro, along with Transformers.

"By "Geek Spy"
OK folks, take this one with a grain of plastic for the time being. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard that Disney acquired Lucasfilm for roughly $4 billion last week and Marvel for around the same price a few years prior. Well, we have it on good authority that serious discussions are happening at the highest levels of both Disney and Hasbro to fold the largest toy and game company on the planet into the Mouse.

From what we’re told, these are still just discussions at this point, but serious enough that something could be announced at any time and create ripples throughout the entertainment industry. "

Bay Seems to be Getting Help on TF4 - From Us

Michael Bay left an interesting little message on his website about Transformers 4:

I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be staring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter.

Michael

It seems like Bay liked a couple ideas that were posted online. They could be from TFW2005, Seibertron, his own forum or any other place on the web. Do you think one of your ideas was noticed by Mr. Bay himself? What do you think about him using ideas from the internet? Comment below!
