Transformers Newsfest

Here's a bunch of news that has flooded in this week.
First off, Amazon UK has put up a listing for an artbook for the Fall of Cybertron video game. This book could possibly just end up being a UK exclusive item, but there is no confirmation on this. The book is set to release on October 2, 2012.

Secondly, Ken Christiansen, the artist for Transformers Prime, has posted some concept art of what Ironhide would look like on the show. What's interesting is that Ironhide seems to have his cannons from the first two live action movies. He has not been confirmed for the show, but it would be a shame if they wasted this awesome design.
Click here to see some screenshots from Transformers Fall of Cybertron. The game is set to release on August 28th in the US and August 30th in Europe.
Transformers Dark of the Moon has won another award. It was nominated in two of the eight catagories for the 2012 Taurus World Stunt Awards and brought home one award. See video after the jump.

No Razzies for TF3

Transformers: Dark of the Moon didn't win a single Razzie thanks to Jack and Jill, which became the first movie in the show's 32 year history to win every single Razzie award. DOTM was nominated in 8 catagories including Worst Director, Worst Actor and Worst Screenplay. For those that don't know, the Razzies is an award show that makes fun of some of the movies from the past year. It's really kind of stupid and very biased.

TF3 Gets Overlooked at the Oscars

On a night where Hugo has dominated the Academy Awards, it has dominated Transformers as well. DOTM was nominated for Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects and all of these awards were handed to Hugo. I have never seen Hugo before, so this post is kind of biased regarding the sound mixing and editing, but from the clips I've seen from Hugo, Transformers was horribly overlooked for the Best Visual Effects award. Even Planet of the Apes and Harry Potter were beat in the visual effects category. Well, you could always hope that TF4 will come home with these awards, but if the tradition continues, we all know that won't happen. To make the night a little bit worse, TF3 has been nominated for 8 Razzie Awards, which are listed below. So much hate for Transformers...

-Worst Picture
-Worst Supporting Actress (Rosie Huntington-Whitely)
-Worst Supporting Actor (Patrick Dempsey)
-Worst Supporting Actor (Ken Jeong)
-Wost Screen Ensemble (The Entire Cast)
-Worst Director (Michael Bay)
-Worst Screen Couple (Shia Lebeouf & Rosie Huntington-Whitely)
-Worst Screenplay

At Tuesday's Spike TV Scream Awards, Transformers: Dark of the Moon took home the trophy for "Best 3D Movie".  DOTM was also nominated for "Best Science Fiction Movie", but lost to Super 8.

Shia Nominated for "Iconic Movie Actor"

J-14 Magazine has nominated Shia LeBeouf for the "Iconic Movie Actor" award for his performances in Transformers.  You can vote for the J-14 Teen Icon Awards here.  Shia has some tough competition and let's face it, Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner are going to win since the award is based on voting.  Show your support anyway though and maybe Shia can go for the win!
