Dan Wheldon 1978-2011

This post is unrelated to Transformers, but I thought that I would post it.

As many of you have probably taken notice, I am a huge auto racing fan.  Yesterday, I heard horrible news that 2-time Indianapolis 500 champion, Dan Wheldon, passed away after being involved in a horrendous, 15 car pile up on lap 11 of the final race of the IZOD IndyCar season.  His car went airborne and slammed into the catch fence while going around 220 mph.  He was only 33 years old.  Dan Wheldon was a great driver, and an even better husband and father to his two young sons.  As a tribute to Dan, the race was stopped and the remaining, undamaged cars lined up in rows of three and drove for five, slow laps around the Las Vegas oval.
