Yesterday, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that The Walt Disney Company has acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion. Lucasfilm was founded by George Lucas and is the home to the Star Wars franchise. With the acquisition, Disney now owns the rights to all of Lucasfilm's franchises, stores and businesses. This is where it could prove to be an interesting twist for Transformers 4. Disney now owns Industrial Light & Magic, a piece of Lucasfilm. ILM has done most of the major CGI work for the first three Transformers movies and is projected to work on the fourth as well. The problem is that since ILM is now a part of Disney, will Paramount Pictures (one of Disney's rivals) allow them to work on the next movie? I'm personally guessing that they will, but it's definitely something to think about.
