The Avengers has taken the fourth place position on the all-time box office list away from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, according to Box Office Mojo. The movie has taken in a total of $1,180.4 million since it opened on May 4th compared to the $1,123.7 million TF3 made in its entire run. Domestically, The Avengers has also passed Tranformers: Dark of the Moon, but Transformers still has a higher total overseas. The Avengers should be able to take third place soon, but I don't see it passing Titanic or Avatar. DOTM's next competition will be The Dark Knight Rises. It will pose a big threat to knocking TF3 out of the top five, but without 3D ticket prices, I expect TDKR to fall just short of fifth place.
