With the well known Hunger Games movie coming out at midnight, you have to ask yourself if there is a possiblility that it could pass Transformers: Dark of the Moon on the all-time highest grossing movies list. On the Ellen Degeneres Show, Ellen mentioned that The Hunger Games is expected to make about $100 million on its opening weekend. Transformers 3 made just over $100 million in its opening weekend. One thing that could make the idea of The Hunger Games passing Transformers not possible is that it isn't in 3D. 3D movies mean higher ticket prices. Higher ticket prices means more money. I really don't have a gauge of exactly how popular the books are. I actually never heard of the book series until I heard of the movie and it has gotten a lot of hype heading into the public premiere tonight. Judging by the hype I've seen so far, I'll guess that The Hunger Games will reach just under $1 billion worldwide, which means that it would not pass up Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

its not going to get any where close to tf3. i think it'll make it to like 500 million a little under twilight breaking dawn (600 million). it wont even touch tf1.
